EVO-ONE or EVO-ALL + INT-LRV on a 2008 European Freelander 2 (LR2) diesel — supported, which module for RF kit?

Vehicle: Land Rover Freelander 2 (sold as LR2 in North America), 2008, 2.2 TD4 diesel, automatic transmission, HSE trim, European market (France), motorized keyport with Engine Start/Stop button. VIN: SALFA24B08H113452

I have read the vehicle page for LR2 2008 Standard-Key, the INT-LRV install guide Rev.G (2012-04-13), and the EVO-ALL Volvo/Land Rover addendum #3322 (rev. 20120430), where Freelander-LR2 2006-2010 is listed as Connection 2 / Program 1. I also read the Jaguar X-Type 2008 EU diesel answer and the F150 standalone answer, so I understand my VIN may not pull up in your NA database and that EVO-ALL standalone only works via data or low-current start. My questions:

  1. The INT-LRV guide lists the vehicle under its European name "Freelander-LR2", so I'm hoping European-market vehicles were part of the validation. Has any European/UK Freelander 2 diesel install been reported? If it's "at your own risk", I accept that — but what would the failure mode be if the CAN data differs on the EU diesel: no status data only, or no remote start at all?
  2. On this push-to-start vehicle, is EVO-ALL + RFK442 standalone supported, or do I need the EVO-ONE to provide the ignition output shown in the INT-LRV diagram? Is a diesel glow-plug delay supported?
  3. INT-LRV: can you confirm the factory keyport stays fully functional for daily use after installation, and that the module can later be removed (service jumper) by re-soldering the two original wires, with no permanent modification to the vehicle?
  4. Is there a newer revision of the INT-LRV guide than Rev.G 2012, or any known notes specific to the Freelander 2? Which install guide number and firmware should I use?
  5. Can the module be purchased pre-flashed, and do you ship to France (EVO module + INT-LRV + RF kit + FlashLink Updater), or is there a European distributor?

For context: I have the Land Rover SDD diagnostic tool and can program my own key fobs (I plan to use a self-programmed spare fob as the sacrificed remote), and I have a precision soldering station.

Hello,

1 "Has any European/UK Freelander 2 diesel install been reported?"

- They have not, as you mentioned it would be attempt at your own risk and what could occur would be unknown since it has not been tested by Fortin or reported by other users on EU models.

2 There is no stand alone you would need the evo-one, rf kit, int-lrv and a flash link, the evo-one does have a diesel delay option if needed of 5, 10 or 20 seconds.

3 Yes the key port will still work as intended when not remote started. A jumper is inlucded as shown in the installation guide for when the int lrv is removed from the vehicle: https://fortin.ca/download/4121/INT-LRV%20RevG.pdf

4 There is not, the int-lrv has been discontinued for quite some time now, Fortin no longer manufactures it or sells it, any available units are what is out in the market. The int-lrv does not get flashed, only the evo-one would get flashed. I have linked the guide above.

5 Fortin does not flash units, that is the installers responsibility using the flash link updater and flash link manager.

To contact your nearest authorized retailler or distributor you can visit these links:

Please bare in mind all of these answers are based on NA market vehicles, I cannot guarentee any funcitonality or compatiblity on the EU version. It is at your own risk.
