Hello Fortin Support,

I have a working EVO-ONE installation and would like to add smartphone remote-start control. I understand that EVO-START LTE coverage is limited to Canada or the USA, depending on the version purchased.

Is it possible to replace the supplied SIM card with a local mobile-network SIM so that the EVO-START can operate in other countries, specifically South Africa?

Could you please clarify:

- Is the SIM replaceable, and can the device's APN be configured for a local provider?

- Would compatible cellular bands and a local data SIM be sufficient, or do firmware, activation, subscription or Fortin server restrictions prevent it from working outside the supported countries?

- If a SIM swap is not supported, is there an international version or a compatible phone-control module you recommend for use with the EVO-ONE in South Africa?

If the answer differs between EVO-START models, please let me know which models support this, if any.

I need help verifying the brake activation and CAN1 wiring for an EVO-ONE installed in a 2017 Audi A6 C7.5 2.0 TDI, right-hand drive, automatic, push-to-start.

Installation guide: #79791

Bypass firmware: 60.12

Remote starter firmware: 1.31

DCryptor completed successfully.

Symptoms:

- Pressing lock three times on the OEM remote triggers the ignition, but the engine will not crank unless I physically press the brake pedal.

- The brake lights do not illuminate during the remote-start sequence when the pedal is not pressed.

- If I hold the brake pedal, the engine starts but shuts off after approximately 2 seconds.

Current connections:

- EVO-ONE D2 Yellow/Blue is connected to the vehicle Red/Black brake circuit.

- CAN1 is tapped into the Orange/Green and Orange/Brown twisted pair at the brown 16-pin BCM connector C. The Fortin guide shows a black connector, so I would like to confirm whether my connection point is correct for this RHD C7.5 vehicle.

Could you please verify:

1. The correct brake activation signal for this exact vehicle: connector and pin, wire colour, required polarity/voltage, and whether D2 Yellow/Blue should connect directly to the Red/Black circuit or requires a different interface. Is this the correct signal to satisfy the push-to-start brake requirement?

2. The correct CAN1 High/Low connection point, connector and pin numbers for the RHD C7.5, including whether the brown 16-pin BCM C Orange/Green and Orange/Brown pair is correct despite the black connector shown in guide #79791.

3. The recommended fix and any required firmware or option changes for the no-crank condition and 2-second shutdown.

I have an EVO-ALL with a LINKR-LT2 but switching to an EVO-ONE and would like to continue to using the LINKR-LT2. I will be utilizing the TOY16 wiring harness when installing the EVO-ONE. When referencing the EVO-ONE installation guide# 127601 I do not see any mention of the AVEC DATA-LINK connection like it is referenced in the EVO-ALL installation guide# 127591. This is my reasoning for this question.

2009 Honda Civic not entering Ready Mode

Hello,

My 2009 Honda Civic Manual Transmission is not entering Ready mode. I have an Evo One with T-harness thar1 installed. I had this installed previously in my last Civic of same model and year. I did reset the module and update the firmware since I hadn't programmed it in a few years. With the car running, I apply and hold the foot brake, apply the hand brake, then release the foot brake. It should flash the cars lights and enter Ready Mode at this point, but does not. I am wondering if it is the firmware update or an option I changed by mistake causing the issue.

Key Bypass Programming stuck at Step 5 on 2009 Honda Civic Evo-One w/ T-Harness

Hello,

I get stuck at Step 5 when trying to program key bypass.

1) Press and hole programming button while connection 6-pin main connector.

2) Released the programming button when the led is Red

3) Inserted the remaining connectors (A-20-pin,D-Red,C-White,B-Blue)

4) Pressed and released programming button twice (x2). Red led flashes once per second.

5) Turned key to On/Run position. Leds turned off. (Should have flashed red 10 times then blue flashing.) This is where I get stuck every time. I did notice that if I remove the 20-pin at this point, then the leds flash properly (Red x10. Blue rapidly) I replace the 20-pin and try to prepare remote start but nothing happens.

Vehicle: Land Rover Freelander 2 (sold as LR2 in North America), 2008, 2.2 TD4 diesel, automatic transmission, HSE trim, European market (France), motorized keyport with Engine Start/Stop button. VIN: SALFA24B08H113452

I have read the vehicle page for LR2 2008 Standard-Key, the INT-LRV install guide Rev.G (2012-04-13), and the EVO-ALL Volvo/Land Rover addendum #3322 (rev. 20120430), where Freelander-LR2 2006-2010 is listed as Connection 2 / Program 1. I also read the Jaguar X-Type 2008 EU diesel answer and the F150 standalone answer, so I understand my VIN may not pull up in your NA database and that EVO-ALL standalone only works via data or low-current start. My questions:

The INT-LRV guide lists the vehicle under its European name "Freelander-LR2", so I'm hoping European-market vehicles were part of the validation. Has any European/UK Freelander 2 diesel install been reported? If it's "at your own risk", I accept that — but what would the failure mode be if the CAN data differs on the EU diesel: no status data only, or no remote start at all?
On this push-to-start vehicle, is EVO-ALL + RFK442 standalone supported, or do I need the EVO-ONE to provide the ignition output shown in the INT-LRV diagram? Is a diesel glow-plug delay supported?
INT-LRV: can you confirm the factory keyport stays fully functional for daily use after installation, and that the module can later be removed (service jumper) by re-soldering the two original wires, with no permanent modification to the vehicle?
Is there a newer revision of the INT-LRV guide than Rev.G 2012, or any known notes specific to the Freelander 2? Which install guide number and firmware should I use?
Can the module be purchased pre-flashed, and do you ship to France (EVO module + INT-LRV + RF kit + FlashLink Updater), or is there a European distributor?

For context: I have the Land Rover SDD diagnostic tool and can program my own key fobs (I plan to use a self-programmed spare fob as the sacrificed remote), and I have a precision soldering station.

I have purchased the EVO-ONE kit along with the T-Harness and Flash Link tool, and I'm planning to install it in a 2026 Toyota Camry Hybrid.

While reviewing the installation manual, I have a few questions I'd like to confirm before proceeding:

Cutting the (-)IMI wire: The diagram indicates that the (-)IMI line needs to be cut during installation. Could you please explain why this step is necessary? Is there an alternative method to complete the installation without cutting this wire?
54-pin connector: Could you clarify the purpose of the 54-pin connector shown in the diagram (labeled as the black connector behind the driver's kick panel)?
ECU behind glove box: Could you also confirm what this ECU (referenced behind the glove box in the diagram) is used for in this installation?

i installed the evo-one with thar-nis4 t harness and RF942 kit.

programmed, decrypted and reinstalled tested with oem keyfob worked great, than i programmed the 2 RF remotes, test again worked good 3 times then just stopped working. i can still unlock/lock with all 3 fobs. it will try to remote start, gets to where it should crank and nothing.

I recently purchased the THAR-ONE-MAZ5 with the EVO-ONE remote starter and immobilizer bypass module for my 2023 Mazda CX-30. I installed everything following Manual #99841, but I’m experiencing an issue.

Problem 1: Vehicle Shuts Down After Takeover

After remote-starting the vehicle using my OEM key, I follow the takeover procedure (Page 11 of Manual #99841). However, as soon as I press the brake pedal, the engine shuts off.

Problem 2: A/C & Accessories Not Working Properly

Additionally, most accessories (including A/C) do not turn on during remote start. Even if I manually activate the A/C after remote starting, I can hear the compressor running, but the blower fan does not work nor the A/C interface screen.

Hello dear, I need to reset this module limit EVO-ALL S/N : 001A07 535399 Toyota Camry 2023 decoding procedure does not work I have a 2023 Evo One I installed the THAR-TOY13 cable, but when trying to follow Dcryptor programming procedures the process fails at step 5. 1. I connect the six-pin connector with the programming button. Flashing LED lights appear to me as shown. 2. I lift my finger when the light is blue, but it remains still blue. 3. I connect the rest of the conductors.. 4. Press the start button twice to start the engine, the blue LED indicator turns off and then flashes quickly. 5. I press the start button once to stop the engine, and instead of the blue LED indicator continuing to flash quickly, it turns off and doesn't flash back.

2024 Grand Highlander Dcryptor Procedure not working

Hi,

Evo One 2019 with the QR code, firmware 88.37. I have the THAR-TOY16 harness installed but when I try to follow the Dcryptor Programming Procedure, it fails at step 5.

1. I plug in the 6 pin connector holding the programming button. I get the flashing LEDs as described.

2. I release when it's blue and it remains solid blue.

3. I plug in the rest of the connectors.

4. I press the Push-to-Start twice to turn on the ignition and the blue LED goes out and then comes back on flashing rapidly.

5. I press the Push-to-Start once to turn off the ignition and instead of the blue LED continuing to flash rapidly, it goes out and doesn't come back on.

i have just installed my evo-one with the gm3 t harness, and 942 rf kit on a 2015 chevy silverado 2500hd with standard key and onstar. i got the remote start and locks to work during testing but after i buttoned up, being careful not to stress any wires, my locks are no longer functioning. the remote says it worked, i hear the relays clicking, and see the parking lights flash. if i try to start the truck it will successfully start and run for about 3 seconds before shutting down. i will get several flashes of the parking lights but then it will not try to start again. i have counted 2 and 4 flashes after a failed remote start and i have even seen "service theft detterent system" on my dash a time or two after a failed start.

Can I use firmware 0.82 in the remote starter of Evo-One, so that i can wire 3xlock manual by (-) to the middle pin of the shock sensor to use the OEM Remote to start the car by 3xLock?

Or is there another firmware that will do the same function better for my car?

Following on a question from Sep 13, 2019: Toyota Tacoma Evo one installed but will not start or blink after being programmed.

Fortin Support stated that the factory remote can be used to start the engine by pressing the lock button three times when the driver's door lock signal (ground signal with a relay) is connected to the center pin of the shock sensor using remote start firmware 0.82.

Does this still work? Is there a firmware version avaliable that can do this?

I am at step 5 of the Programming Procedure on a 2023 Corolla with key. I get through step 4 and the blue light will flash and then turn solid but when I start the car for step 5, the blue light stays on solid and the red light does not come on the install pretty easy and straight forward.

2013 Jeep Wrangler, Standard key (no OEM remote),Manual Trans, EVO-One-942 kit, THAR-CHR5, will not remote start after ready mode entered. I have followed install guide #63811.

After successfully entering ready mode and trying to remote start it will power the jeep up like itis trying to start it but nothing happens. After reading a few of the other question/answers it seems that a clutch bypass relay may need to be installed? I have found some information on wirecolor.com for the wiring of this. Does this relay connect back to the EVO-One somewhere? Installing a clutch bypass relay is not mentioned anywhere in the #63811 install guide. Perhaps you guys should include that in the guide.

Hello. I installed Evo-One on 2016 Kia K7 (on liquid gas...with start-stop).. I specified 2017 Kia Optima in the manager. The EMS wire was behind the passenger kick panel in the red connector on the bottom, second from the right. Behind the fuse, the ignition wire (ON) was pink...the ACC wire was white...the starter wire was yellow with a black stripe. The CAN wires were also located behind the fuses in a small connector... yellow and black... blue and orange. Everything worked well, but after opening the door, when I pressed the brake, the car stopped... When I pressed the start-stop button, the radio turned on, and the start-stop button also showed a yellow LED, but the car stopped when I pressed the brake.

I didn't use the ACC-2. It was blue, behind the fuses. The customer left satisfied, but I'm wondering what else can be added to prevent the car from stalling when the brake is applied?

If you could please send me the serial number of this Evo-One...I usually write down the numbers in a journal and now I forgot to write them down...
